Trousdale County has received the first dollar from (ECD) Economic and Community Development in regards to the Phase 1 2008 disaster grant.
The electronic deposit came on May 6, 2013 according to the Trousdale County Trustee Kay Celsor. The Sum of the deposit was $73,630.00 for a new brush chipper that should be constructed and delivered within 90 days.
Mayor Jake West stated, “That this has been a very strenuous process that he picked up when he took office in 2010.” The Mayor has also stated, “That there is an estimated $675,000 more to receive for disaster related equipment, such as tornado siren, new county fuel pumps, backup generators and more.”
This comes with much anticipation, the Sanitation Department Supervisor has commented, “The need for the chipper is due. The one that is in use now is 19 years old and is costing the county in repairs and is absolutely worn out.”
