The 7th Annual O’Reilly’s/Walgreens Auto & Bike Show on the Square will be held in Lafayette from 2 to 5 p.m. this Saturday, June 1st, on the Public Square, giving guests the opportunity to revisit the good ‘ole days!
The afternoon event, sponsored by O’Reilly Auto Parts, Day’s Service Center and Walgreens, will also provide show-goers with music, food and fun!
There is no admission fee for the event, and show participants can enter their muscle car, antique or classic car, truck, rat rod, motorcycle or tractor by paying a $10 entry fee. Profits from the event will be donated to Relay for Life.
“We are excited about the addition of motorcycles this year,” said event co-sponsor Bill Gregory of O’Reilly Auto Parts. “We hope everyone will bring their bikes out and participate!”
The top 50 vehicles will receive plaques along with the winners of ‘Best of Show’ and the 15 best motorcycles. Voting will be completed by entrants, who will receive the voting paperwork at the time of registration.
Event co-sponsor O’Reilly Auto Parts is donating all winners’ plaques for the 7th annual car show.
Food will be available for purchase at food merchants on the square and a deejay, playing your favorite oldies, will be located on the Courthouse lawn.
Last year, around 120 vehicles were entered in the show and that number is expected to grow this year.
“We hope that everyone will come out and join us at the show,” Gregory remarked. “It’s a lot of fun to walk around and see all of the history. You can almost imagine what the Square looked like back in the old days.”
