Hayden Fest Outdoor Music Festival, an event held in memory of Hayden Shrum, promises to provide great music, great food and great times on Saturday, June 15, beginning at noon at the Macon County Fairgrounds.
Hayden Shrum, who passed away in May of 2010 from Acute Myelogenous Leukemia, spent his last months planning this cancer awareness event, then called ‘Rockin’ the Park for Cancer Awareness.’ The event was a huge success, and friends and family have carried on the young man’s dream by continuing to host the outdoor music festival in his memory every year since his death.
Now entitled ‘Hayden Fest,’ the festival focuses on Hayden’s love of music and passion for helping others who are battling cancer.
All proceeds from Hayden Fest will benefit those affected by cancer with an emphasis on infant to young adults.
Musical entertainment will feature Mama Tried, Super Nova-Cain, NWB Naked White Boys, Jason Gammons, Southern Image, Shattered Silence, Jeff Hudson and Sacred Soul.
Guests of the event are invited to participate in a silent auction, which includes an autographed guitar by Alan Jackson, and many other items. There will be great food hosted by Gibson’s Café.
Events for the kids will be provided at this free, family-friendly event.
Food, drinks and a variety of desserts will also be available for purchase.
For more information, contact Felisha Shrum at (615) 388-6746.
Admission is $5.00, with kids 10 and under free.
