Sheriff Mark Gammons of the Macon County Sheriff’s Department recently reported that on July 18, 2013, his office received a complaint from an individual, located in Southern Macon County, stating several items had been stolen from their residence.
Deputies and detectives who arrived to investigate the scene reported numerous items were stolen including a DVD player, laptop computer and computer equipment, antiques, antique dishes and other household goods, and mink coats.
The total value of the stolen items amounted to approximately $15,000.
Upon further investigation, suspects were established and questioned, which led to the recovery of a majority of the items including the mink coats and computer equipment.
This has been labeled an ongoing investigation and charges are pending.
