Thirty-six-year old Aurelio Garcia Sanchez, of Windle Lane in Red Boiling Springs, was sentenced last Friday to 125 years for five counts of child rape involving his step-daughter. That was 25 years for each count, which will run consecutively.
According to Assistant District Attorney General Justin Harris, in August of 2011 the young victim told someone at school what had happened with her stepfather, Mr. Sanchez. “RBS Police Chief Terry Tuck then got involved,” said General Harris. “Chief Tuck along with former Macon County Sheriffs Office Detective Bill Cothron, and Officer Pete Richie of Sumner County conducted an investigation and the rape suspect confessed to molesting the young girl.”
Sanchez was arrested by Chief Tuck on August 23, 2011, and was tried in June of this year, before Judge David Durham. “The jury convicted him on the evidence that was gathered during the officers’ investigation and the victim’s testimony as well,” said the assistant District Attorney.
“We are pleased with the judgment,” added General Harris, who represented the State.
