Macon County Sheriff Mark Gammons recently announced that sheriff’s department deputies and detectives have been investigating burglaries in the county over the past few weeks.
After gathering evidence at the scenes and conducting several interviews in surrounding counties, searches were conducted and officers were able to recover missing items from the residential burglaries including long guns and several knife collections.
During the investigation, several suspects were established and arrests were made.
The investigation is classified as ongoing and additional charges are pending.
Agencies involved in the investigation were the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, the Lafayette Police Department, the Smith County Sheriff’s Office, the Trousdale County Sheriff’s Department and the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office.
