Election Day is August 7!!

If you haven’t taken advantage of the early voting period, don’t forget to cast your vote on Election day for the State Primary and County General Election this Thursday, August 7.


Macon County Administrator of Elections Barry Doss has a few reminders for those planning to participate on Election Day

  1. The polls open at 9 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
  2. The District 7 polling place has been moved from the Sally Wells Building to the Armory due to fair activities.
  3. Don’t forget, you must have a valid photo ID to be eligible to vote.
  4. If you don’t know where the polling place is located for your district, call the Macon County Election Commission Office at (615) 666-2199.

Early voting ended last Saturday, August 2, with 3,970 Macon County voters making their picks for county and state positions.

The breakdown of the number of early votes, by day, is as follows:

7/1 - 7/17: 26 early voters, 4 by mail voters (Total: 30)

July 18, 2014: 407 early voters; 6 by mail votes (Total: 413)

July 19, 2014: 175 early voters; 0 by mail voters (Total: 175)

July 21, 2014: 335 early voters, 12 by mail voters (Total: 347)

July 22, 2014: 300 early voters, 8 by mail voters (Total: 308)

July 23, 2014: 304 early voters, 9 by mail voters (Total: 313)

July 24, 2014: 313 early voters, 1 by mail voter (Total: 314)

July 25, 2014: 304 early voters, 2 by mail voters (Total: 306)

July 26, 2014: 133 early voters, 0 by mail voters (Total: 133)

July 28, 2014: 215 early voters, 16 by mail voters (Total: 231)

July 29, 2014: 226 early voters, 10 by mail voters (Total: 236)

July 30, 2014: 282 early voters, 8 by mail voters (Total: 290)

July 31, 2014: 350 early voters, 4 by mail voters (Total: 354)

August 1, 2014: 288 early voters, 25 by mail voters (Total: 313)

August 2, 2014: 207 early voters, 0 by mail voters (Total: 207)
