Allen County Sheriff Jeff Cooke is the crash investigator.
According to Sheriff Cooke, Ron Meador, age 61, of Lafayette, was riding a Honda 600 rubicon 4-wheeler along with his passenger 45-year-old Angela Cole, when they wrecked in the creek at the bridge, which is located at the intersection of Long Road and Max Roark Road.
Angela Cole was transported by ground ambulance for treatment of her injuries. Her condition was unknown at press time.
“At this point I am not exactly sure what happened, and the wreck is under investigation,” said Sheriff Cooke. “Allen County Coroner Darren Davis pronounced Mr. Meador deceased at the scene.”
Mr. Ron Meador was the long-time business owner of Lafayette Laundry, located at 122 Main Street, off the public square in Lafayette.
He is survived by his son, Jason and wife Rachelle Meador; granddaughters, Mackenzie and Jaycee Meador; mother, Ruby Cothron Meador; brother, Barry and Kathy Meador; sisters, Teresa and John Ferguson & Cynthia Meador; several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
Those responding to the wreck site were the Allen County Sheriffs Office, Macon County Sheriffs Office, Macon County EMS & Allen County EMS.
