The Lafayette Police Department made an arrest over the weekend after a motorcycle chase that started out in the county.
Late Saturday night, March 26, the Macon County Sheriffs Office was involved in a motorcycle chase with a 22-year-old man, who was later identified as Thomas Christian Uzzle, of 154 Brattontown Circle in Lafayette. The Lafayette Police Department was notified by a deputy that the motorcycle was headed east toward the city in speeds in excess of 100 mph.
According to Lt. Jason Robert, of the Lafayette Police Department, city officers headed to the west side of the city at the Brattontown intersection. When Uzzle entered the city around midnight, he turned onto Brattontown Circle from 52 and then he wrecked while trying to pull into the driveway where he resides.
LPD Officer Josh McClard arrested Uzzle and charged him on March 27 with evading arrest, reckless driving, improper passing, reckless endangerment, speeding, possession of drug paraphernalia and driver to exercise due care.
General Sessions Court dates are set for April 13 and April 27.
