A Macon County woman remains in Skyline Hospital this week, where she is being treated for injuries she suffered in a wreck on Hwy. 231 in Trousdale County, on April 6.

According to a report filed by THP Trooper Gerald Carter, 61-year-old Kathy Jenkins, of Lafayette, was driving a northbound 2003 Oldsmobile Alero on US 231 and 31-year old Vladan Marusic, of Rosemont, Il., was traveling south in a 2007 Volvo semi truck around 5:30 p.m. last Wednesday.

The narrative states that a tree had fallen down partly in the road and hit the phone line on the northbound side of 231 and Jenkins served to miss the tree. Her vehicle crossed the center line and collided head on with the semi.

Jenkins was transported to the Nashville hospital for treatment of her injuries and the truck driver was not injured.

Both drivers were reported to have been wearing their seat belts.

Trooper Gerald Carter, of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, was the investigating officer.
