Lafayette Landing, the new government funded, high end affordable living complex, is now available to renters, however there is some confusion on how to qualify to rent an apartment.
This “refreshingly different” upscale complex is located on Highway 52 By Pass West next to the Maple Hill Center. The rent isn’t based on income, however there is an income limit based on your household size. What this means is if you make too much money you can’t qualify but you also need a minimum income of approximately two times the rent each month. Property Manager Bonnie Morris wants to provide potential occupants with information so they can determine if they are eligible to rent a one, two or three bedroom apartment.
“To be income eligible, your total houshold income including income from your assets, must be less than or equal to the pre-set limit for Macon County,” said Morris.
To find out if you can qualify for an apartment, management must verify your income and assets, have previous landlord references, and do a credit & criminal background check.
There is a set rent, which may seem a little higher than usual for this area, but you have to take into consideration that these are new well designed buildings and each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, washer & dryer connections in every apartment, sheet rock walls, central heat and air, a fitness center, business center, community clubhouse, private patio/balcony, beautiful landscaping, a tree lined driveway entrance, and a professional management team.
Lafayette Landing pays the water, sewer and trash and the renter pays the electric bill.
If you are worried about the credit check, your good credit could balance out any bad credit that you might have.
Lafayette Landing is a high quality, modern housing complex that is a good place to live and it was built to serve a wide range of family types.
