Convicted Felon Arrested Again

Nathan Carver

A 23-year-old convicted felon was arrested by Officer Josh McClard, of the Lafayette Police Department, on Wednesday, October 12, in the parking lot of a local trailer park.

According to Officer McClard’s complaint, while he was investigating a reckless driver in the parking lot of Cherry’s Trailer Park, he made contact with the suspect, Nathan Wayne Carver, who was driving on a revoked license.

The officer states that he attempted to take Carver into custody and he resisted. While forcing him out of the vehicle, he observed a sawed off shotgun in the floor between the driver seat and the door. Carver is a convicted felon and was found in possession of the illegal weapon with shortened barrel and grip.

Officer Gann further stated that while struggling with Carver a set of brass knuckles fell out of his pockets. While searching the vehicle he found two clubs, several rounds of ammunition, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. The registration plate was registered to a different vehicle and no insurance information was found.

Officer Gann charged Nathan Carver with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, driving while license revoked, switched tags and no insurance.

The General Sessions Court date is set for November 9 and bond is set at $7,850.
