Car Slams Into Tree, Two Injured

According to RBS Assistant Police Chief Jimmy Morgan, 37-year-old April Jordan, of Red Boiling Springs, was driving on Bennett Hill Road in a white 1995 Pontiac Oldsmobile. “Ms. Jordan was coming off Bennett Hill into town when her brakes failed,” said Asst. Chief Morgan. “The car got away from her and slammed into a tree, near the old Macon County Chronicle office. Robert York, also of RBS, was in the passenger’s seat.”

The assistant chief stated that the impact was so hard, both occupants were trapped in the car and had to be extricated by the Red Boiling Springs Fire & Rescue. They both sustained serious injuries.

Medical helicopters were contacted to fly both patients out, however due to weather conditions they declined.

April Jordan and Robert York were both transported by ground ambulance to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.

Those responding to the scene were the RBS Police, RBS Fire & Rescue, Macon County EMS, and the Macon County Chronicle.

RBS Assistant Police Chief Jimmy Morgan was the investigating officer.
