The Red Boiling Springs Police Department is continuing to investigate a burglary at Price’s Repair Shop, located at 290 Main Street, that was discovered when the business opened on Thursday morning, December 22.
According to RBS Chief Terry Tuck, after his department was notified and arrived at the scene, they found that the suspect or suspects had entered the business through a window in the back of the building.
“Thousands of dollars worth of items were taken including tools, two laptop computers, diagnostic equipment, and vehicle keys were removed,” said Chief Tuck. “They went through the vehicles in the parking lot and took a 2000 Chevy S10 truck, which was apparently used to load the stolen items into.”
At this point in the investigation the chief says a few items have been recovered including the Chevy pickup truck, a laptap computer, and a zipper back with business papers.
“On Thursday, December 29, the Macon County Sheriffs Department and the Lafayette Police Department were working on another case and discovered the Chevy truck on Westfork Creek Road in the other end of the county,” said Chief Tuck.
The chief said his department does have some people of interest and they are checking all leads. “We are seeking recovery of the stolen items as well as the apprehension of the suspect or suspects involved in this case.”
“Our department is working in a joint effort with the Macon County Sheriffs Office and the Lafayette Police Department on several burglaries and thefts occuring in the county.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact the Red Boiling Springs Police Department, at 615-699-2011.
