Jeffrey Strong, the suspect wanted for multiple thefts in Macon County and numerous other areas in Tennessee and Kentucky, was captured by authorities last week.
According to Macon County Sheriff Mark Gammons, his office received information regarding Strong’s whereabouts, and deputies and detectives gained entry into a residence on Akersville Road, where Strong was located.
As reported in last week’s issue of the Macon County Chronicle, Strong is linked to at least five thefts in Macon County, along with thefts in Kentucky and Putnam, Smith and Jackson counties in Tennessee.
He was charged with seven counts of theft of property, and is being held at the Macon County Jail on $60,000 bond. Additional charges are pending.
“I’d like to thank everyone that assisted with this case for their hard work,” the sheriff remarked.
