Meth, Heroin, Pills, Needles & Marijuana

By Jessie Williams

Two woman were busted with multiple drugs and paraphernalia in the parking lot of the Macon County Justice Center on Wednesday, July 25.

According to Sheriff Mark Gammons, one of the women - Luther Darlene Robinette - has been under investigation for months for suspected illegal drug activity.

“We noticed that this individual brought someone to the justice center for court and just stayed in the parking lot near her vehicle,” Sheriff Gammons stated. “When we approached the vehicle, we noticed a second female inside later identified as Brittany Barrett.”

Barrett was found to have warrants out for her arrest in both Trousdale and Sumner Counties.

Robinette was found to have over 21 grams of meth - including two small bags weighed out for resale, Hydrocodone pills, Percocet pills and Valium in her under garments.

Needles, cash and a set of digital scales were also found in the vehicle.

A thorough search during the jail booking process also revealed that Robinette was harboring drugs internally. Meth, heroin and marijuana were found stored in her private, cavity area.

Robinette was charged with manufacture of narcotics, possession of a schedule IV drug, possession of a schedule II drug (3 counts), possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation. Her vehicle was seized by authorities.

Her bond was set at $100,000, and she is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on August 8.

Additional charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing.
