Murder Trial Set For Keithandre Murray

A trial date has been set for the week of April 29, 2019, for Keithandre Trevon Murray, who stands accused, along with Rodney Garret, of shooting and killing 32-year-old Alisha Renee Mondoni and 44-year-old James Turner at 5100 New Harmony Road, in Macon County, on February 11, 2017.

 

According to Assistant District Attorney General Javin Cripps, motions are set for March 1, 2019.

The two shooting victims, James Turner and Alisha Mondoni, were discovered in a car at the New Harmony Road residence by a neighbor who called 911.

Officers from the Macon County Sheriffs Office responded to the call on February 11th,  and the TBI was also called in to help uncover the events that led to the deaths of the shooting victims. TBI agents collected evidence, interviewed witnesses and individuals with relevant information.

Rodney Garrett, of Antioch, then 29-years-old, was arrested on February 16, 2017, in Nashville on two counts of First Degree Murder.

Keithandre Trevon Murray, of Lebanon, then 22-years-old, was captured by authorities on February 22, 2017, in Monroe, Louisiana, after being added to the TBI’s Top 10 Most Wanted list for two counts of First Degree Murder.

Keithandre Murray and Rodney Garrett, who were each originally indicted for 2 counts of First Degree Premeditated Murder, were served with superseding indictments in May of 2017, after the Macon County Grand Jury handed down additional charges.

Keithandre Murray: 2 counts first degree premeditated murder, 2 counts criminal attempt to commit aggravated robbery, 2 counts felony murder. 

Rodney A. Garrett: 2 counts first degree premeditated murder, 2 counts criminal attempt to commit aggravated robbery, and 2 counts of felony murder.

The indictments:

The Grand Jurors of Macon County, Tennessee, duly empaneled and sworn upon their oath present that Keithandre Trevon Murray and Rodney A. Garrett, on February 11, 2017, in Macon County, did unlawfully, intentionally, and with premeditation kill Alisha Renee Mondoni and James Darnell Turner.

The Grand Jurors of Macon County, Tennessee, duly empaneled and sworn upon their oath present that Keithandre Murray and Rodney Garrett, on February 11, 2017, in Macon County did unlawfully, intentionally, or knowingly, attempt to commit aggravated robbery by taking from the persons of Alisha Renee Mondoni and James Darnell Turner certain property, by violence or putting Alisha Mondoni and James Turner in fear; the robbery accomplished with a deadly weapon or by the displaying of any article used or fashioned to lead Mondoni and Turner to reasonably believe the article to be a deadly weapon.

The Grand Jurors of Macon County, Tennessee, duly empaneled and sworn upon their oath present that Keithandre Murray and Rodney Garrett on February 11, 2017, in Macon County, did unlawfully kill Alisha Mondoni and James Turner, committed in the perpetration of a felony, to wit: aggravated robbery.

A trial date hasn’t been set for Rodney Garrett.
