Search Warrant Executed on Tooley Branch Rd.

A search warrant executed at a Macon County residence last week resulted in two arrests and the discovery of drugs, guns and paraphernalia. 

According to Macon County Detective Jacob McClard, he and other detectives and deputies executed a search warrant at a residence on Tooley Branch Rd. last Friday, November 12. 

Upon entering the home, two individuals were located coming out of the bedroom. Those individuals were identified as 34-year-old Steven Thompson and 40-year-old Lerinda Shrum. 

After detaining both individuals, officers conducted a search and located a crystal substance in the bedroom where Thompson and Shrum were seen, that weighed approximately 16.5 grams. 

The substance is believed to be methamphetamine. 

Also found in the home was $101 in cash with a crystal substance on it, and drug paraphernalia including smoking pipes and syringes. 

Inside Mrs. Shrum’s purse, officers also found approximately 5 grams of a leafy, green substance believed to be marijuana, as well as rolling papers and a smoking pipe. 

An outbuilding on the property was also searched, and three firearms were located by law enforcement.

Mr. Thompson, who is a convicted felon, is prohibited from owning firearms. 

These guns were seized as part of the investigation. 

Both individuals were arrested and transported to the Macon County Jail for booking.

Thompson was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine for resale, possession of drug paraphernalia, armed during a dangerous felony and selling in possession of a firearm. His bond was set at $55,000. 

Shrum was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine for resale, possession of drug paraphernalia and simple possession of a schedule 6 drug. Her bond is set at $40,000. 

They are both scheduled to appear in general sessions court on December 15, 2021.
