The Macon County Chamber of Commerce held its annual membership banquet last Tuesday night November 11th at the Sally Wells Building in Lafayette. Alexander Funeral Home was recognized for 100 years of service, and Paul Thompson was selected as outstanding chamber member of the year.
An award was given on behalf of everyone involved in the tornado aftermath. The award, symbolic of the community’s efforts, will be placed in the, soon to be open, Macon County Welcome Center on the Highway 52 Bypass East.
Banquet tabletops were adorned with a beautiful variety of crafted displays, all sold at auction, as a fundraiser supporting the chamber.
A large group attended enjoying the meal, the plentiful desserts, and the fellowship with chamber members.
