Royalty Crowned During Central Elementary Christmas Festival

The Central Elementary Christmas Festival was held on Friday night, December 5th, 2008, with an estimated crowd of 400 in attendance. A total of over $7,000 was raised for supplies and equipment for the individual classrooms, according to Principal Dawn Thompson.

The school was alive with activity as children and adults enjoyed all the traditional games including darts, golf, fish pond, ring toss and the always popular cake walk.

The highlight of the festival was the crowning of the 3rd grade King and Queen, Brian Swindle and Krista Perkins; and the 2nd grade Prince and Princess, Cameron Wohlgamuth and Allyson Shoulders.

Co-chairman of this year’s event were Rachel Bransford and Jeri Lynn Wilkerson.

The staff at Central Elementary is very grateful to the parents, friends and many other adults in the community who gave of their money, effort and time to help make this year’s festival a huge success. They would also like to thank the local merchants for their donations and all the folks who came out despite the cold weather to support the school.

“We appreciate you all!”
