Avon Davis, age 88 of Red Boiling Springs, TN passed away early Fri., May 15, 2009 at his residence. Funeral Services for Avon Davis were conducted Mon., May 18, 2009 from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, TN with Donnie Barnes officiating. Interment followed in the Whitley Cemetery. His family and friends served as pallbearers. On Nov. 29, 1941, he married Bertha Pedigo, who preceded him in death on Oct. 3, 2007. In addition to his parents and wife of 65 years, he was also preceded in death by his half-brothers, Doyle and Leon Coons, and half-sisters, Melba Mallinson and Velma Wilmes. He was a farmer, sawmill worker who was always willing to do whatever was asked of him and a member of the Red Boiling Springs Church of Christ. He is survived by his Son & Daughter-in-law, Gerald & Bonita Davis, Red Boiling Springs, Tenn.; sister, Hilda (Andy) Biles, Hermitage Springs, step-granddaughter, Shellie Frogge, step-grandsons & wives, Marty & Suzanne Frogge, Donald & Polly Frogge, Anthony Frogge, and special great-granddaughter, Alexes Robertson, all of Bowling Green, KY, half-sisters, Mildred Cason, Nashville, Tenn., Alma Holloway, Lancaster, CA, Elizabeth Jenkins, Gainesboro, Tenn., half-brother, Charles Coons, Morton, IL., 8 step-great-grandchildren.
