Jewell Christine Cherry Gentry, age 88, a resident of Knollwood Manor and formerly of the Rocky Mound Community in Macon County, Tenn. passed away Sat., May 23, 2009 at Knollwood Manor in Lafayette, Tenn. Funeral services were conducted Tues., May 26, 2009 from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. with E. C. Meadows officiating. Interment followed in the Smith Chapel Cemetery. Her family and friends served as pallbearers. Jewell was born Sat., Oct. 16, 1920  in Clay County, Tenn., the daughter of the late Grover and Bertha Long Cherry. On July 11, 1940, she married Willard Gentry, who preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1997.  In addition to her husband of 57 years and parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Lois Gentry, son, Stevie Gentry, brother, Goldman Cherry and sisters, Goldie Browning and Bonnie Grace. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
