Vesper D. Newberry, 88

Vesper D. Newberry, age 88, of Red Boiling Springs, TN passed away Thurs., Aug. 27, 2009 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tenn. Funeral services were conducted Sun., Aug. 30, 2009 from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Jimmy Cook officiating. Interment followed in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park in Lafayette. Honorary Pallbearers were Robert Wilson and Jesse T. Gregory. Active Pallbearers were Dakota Stewart, Jeff Newberry, Brian Newberry, Eric Newberry, Tony Newberry, Shane Newberry, Ashley Newberry, Reagan Newberry, Steve Newberry and Marty Newberry. Vesper was born Aug. 11, 1921 in Macon County, Tenn., the son of the late Bedford and Irene Johnson Newberry. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by son, Bruce Newberry, daughter, Carma Lou Newberry, granddaughter, Lisa Newberry, great-grandson, Cody Newberry, sisters, Wilma Grace Halliburton, Willa Dean Murray, Freda Evans and brothers, Casper and Tommy Newberry. He was a Truck Driver, Logger and member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include sons & daughters-in-law, Carlos (Jean) Newberry, Wayne (Sandra) Newberry all of Red Boiling Springs, Bobby (Janet) Newberry of Hendersonville, Tenn., Terry Newberry of Red Boiling Springs, sisters & brother-in-law, Margie (Joe) Miller, Geneva McClure, brother, Johnny (Mary) Newberry all of Indianapolis, IN, 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
