Edith Belle Hollis Carlisle, age 68, of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. passed away Sat., Aug. 22, 2009, at the St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. Funeral Services for Edith Belle Hollis Carlisle were conducted Tues., Aug. 25, 2009 from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Elder Joey Hackett officiating. Interment followed in the Whitley Cemetery in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. Honorary Pallbearers were Edna Woodard, Bowdoin Smith, M.D., Doctors & Staff at St. Thomas Hospital, Johnathan Hagan, Zack Hollis and Family & Friends. Active Pallbearers were Lance Spivey, Chad Spivey, Michael Bell, R.J. Spivey, John Carlisle and Waylon Hackett. Edith was born June 11, 1941 in Macon County, Tenn., the daughter of Jewel Hackett Belle of Red Boiling Springs, TN and the late Bert Belle. On July 20, 1974, she married Alvin Roy “Buddy” Carlisle, who preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 1993. She was a garment factory worker and a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. She was a very loving daughter, mother and grandmother. Survivors besides her mother, Jewel include: daughter, Lisa Hagan, Red Boiling Springs, Sons & Daughters-in-law, Tim & Wanda Hollis, Red Boiling Springs, Kyle & Lisa Hollis, Lafayette, granddaughter, Veronica Hagan, Austin Tracy, KY, grandsons, Johnathan Hagan, Red Boiling Springs, Zack Hollis, Lafayette, step-children, Terry, Vickie, Benny & Tommy and their children, step-grandchildren, Tracy (Scott) Shafer, Crystal Enoch all of Carthage, Jennifer (Dewayne) Poindexter, Cookeville, step-great-grandchildren, Derrick Shafer, Alexis Tisdale and Kara O’Regan.
