B .M. was born Nov. 22, 1919 in Etowah County, Alabama, the son of the late Boyce Manrin and Beatrice Housel Rains, Sr. On June 7, 1947, he married Lucile Witcher, who preceded him in death on May 29, 1997.  B. M. was the president and owner of the former Red Boiling Springs Lumber Company in Red Boiling Springs with 25 years of service.  He was a member of the Historic Preservation Society of Macon County. Survivors include: sons, Manrin (Elizabeth) Rains, III, M.D., Memphis, TN; Mickey Rains, Carolina, P.R.; grandson, Darryl Rains, Tarpon Springs, FL.
