She was born on September 17, 1910 in Kanawha County, W.V., one of three siblings born to the late John Mark Pauley and Emma Evalina (Summers) Pauley, both natives of W.V. She was married to John Milton Ruffner, a native of Bristol, Va., who preceded her in death. Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lee Pauley Ohlinger and Pauline Pauley Adkinson. She was a homemaker and a long time member of the Naomi Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by her nephew, Fletcher Keith Adkinson and niece, Jett Williams of Macon County, Tenn. The family plan to have a private service in Macon County.
Irene Pauley Ruffner, age 97, a resident of The White House in Lafayette, died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, Tenn.
