
Delsie Denton Creek Shaw was born on January 24, 1924 in Monroe County, KY, one of nine siblings born to the late Clarence and Florence (Dunham) Creek. She was married to Dewey Lee Shaw in 1947, who preceded her in death in September of 1967. In addition to her husband and parents, her son, Charles “Chuck” Shaw, infant grandchild, great grandson, Charles Wemyss, sisters, Elsie Freeman and Marie Hooten, brothers, Royce, Donald, James, and Delmer Creek, preceded her in death. In her earlier years, Ms. Delsie worked at Sunbeam Lawn Furniture in Portland, TN, until her retirement. She was a homemaker, with lots of children around her most of her life and she was a Missionary Baptist in belief.
