His occupation was a mechanic for Peterbilt and then Goodyear for several years, before retiring in 1981. Billy’s second job was farming and that was what he did most all his life. Working in the fields and taking care of his cattle was his enjoyment. Billy had a great personality; joking and showing off around family and friends. He could brighten your day with just a smile.
In his younger days, he loved fast cars and enjoyed talking about them. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather; cherishing every minute he had with his family.
Billy was saved and joined Rocky Mound Missionary Baptist Church, where he remained a member. He was also a member of the Historical Society. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and all who knew him.
Besides his wife, Joyce, he is survived; daughters, Regina Christine Beasley, and Angela Marie (Craig) Sloan, son, Tim (Edie) Cliburn of Lafayette, TN, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends, also survive.
