Entombment was in Sumner Memorial Gardens in Gallatin. He was born in Smith County, TN, one of nine siblings born to the late Clarence Fisher and Mamie (Dillehay) Boze. On May 29, 1943, he married the former Frances Sue Sircy, who preceded him in death in April of 2008. He was a member and a trustee of the West End Missionary Baptist Church in Gallatin and had been a member of the lions Club in Bethpage. He was a rural mail carrier for several years and farmed all his life until his health failed. In addition to his wife of 65 years and his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dewitt and Prentice Boze, two sisters, June Shoulders and Marie Woodard and son-in-law, Charles Martin. He is survived by daughters, Peggy Martin, Melinda (Rocky) Jones, both of Gallatin, TN, brother, Joe (Mary Ruth) Boze, Carthage, TN, sisters, Robbie (Joe) Oldham, Carthage, TN, Hilda (Billy) Gray, Shelbyville, TN, Lucy Woodard, Lafayette, TN, 3 grandchildren.
James Gordon Boze, age 87, of Gallatin, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Gallatin. Funeral Services for James Boze were conducted on Wednesday, June 8, at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home in Gallatin with Elder Ottis Jones officiating. Tommy Boze, Don Boze, Steve Brown, Jimmy Joe Boze, Brad Shoulders, and Bill Edwards served as Pallbearers.
