Joseph F. Cothron, 59

  Joseph F. Cothron, better known as Joe, age 59, of Lafayette, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2011 at Sumner Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Joe Cothron were conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Jimmy Claiborne and Elder G.W. Knight officiating.

  Serving as pallbearers were; Don Johnson, Seth Parrish, Kyle Deering, Tim Case, Jared Claiborne, George McFerrin, Steve Cothron, and Joel Brooks. Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens. Joe was born on April 10, 1952 in Macon County, Tennessee to the late Ray and Nola Alloria Pirtle Cothron. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Estes Knight. He was a graduate of Macon County High School, and he attended Tennessee Technology Center in Hartsville for eighteen months taking automotive training. Joe worked for Texas Boot for several years and later went to work for J.C. Jones on his farm before retiring in the late 90’s, due to his health. He worked hard all of his life, but seemed to enjoy every minute of it. Being a very simple man, Joe’s life was not spent out in the world much. Joe had a huge, caring heart and would help anyone that he could. He simply loved being around people. Joe loved to sit and talk to anyone who had time to listen. The most important thing in Joe’s life was the time he spent in Church. He was always good to visit sister churches. Being able to serve God was what his life revolved around. Joe will be greatly missed by his family, Church, and all who knew and loved him. He is survived by; Brother, Charles and Susan Cothron of Lafayette, TN, Sister-in-law, Jean Knight of Gallatin, TN, Nephews, Craig and Rhonda Cothron of Lafayette, TN, Kenneth Knight of Virginia, Niece, Michele Denton and James of Baxter, TN, Great nephews, Colin Cothron, and Logan Denton, Great nieces, Callie Cothron, Katelyn Cothron, Sierra Denton, and Jasmine Denton.
