Funeral services for Woodie Bryant Wix were conducted Monday, August 11, 2008, at 2 p.m. from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Murl Wix and Reverend Carlene Kirby officiating. Interment followed in the Eulia Cemetery.
Woodie Bryant Wix was born on January 14, 1926, in Macon County, one of three siblings, to the late Roy and Fannie (Scruggs) Leath. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Leath.
She is survived by Douglas Ray Wix, whom she married on January 25, 1945, sharing sixty-three years together. She was a homemaker, who devoted her life to her family and she wrote in her own words; when my time is done here, lay me down to rest a little while in Gods house. Love you all but it is time to say goodbye. I’ll be waiting on the other side of Jordon to meet you all. She was a member of Millers Chapel General Baptist Church.
Besides her husband; a daughter and son-in-law, Neva Gail and Larry Herald of Westmoreland, Tenn., grandson, Kevin Herald, great-grandson, Kyson Herald, and sister, Eva Wix of Westmoreland, Tenn. survives.
