Mr. Jim Frizzell of the Highland Community died at 1:45 a.m. Friday morning, September 5, 2008 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center where he was admitted August 25. He was 75.

Funeral services were conducted from the Hackett Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon, September 7 at 3 p.m. Mr. Frizzell’s son, Bro. James Frizzell and his son-in-law, Rev. Eddie Reed officiating. Burial followed in the Draper Cemetery on Wartrace Creek.

Born James Obey Frizzell in Herrin, Ill. on October 27, 1932, he was the son of the late John Austin and Millie Osborne Frizzell.

On January 20, 1952 in Pocahontas, Ark. he was married to the former Wanda June Ogden.

They were preceded in death by a grandson, Jonah Robert Frizzell.

Mr. Frizzell was a member of the Church of God in Crossville.

Mr. Frizzell was a 1950 graduate of Herrin High School, Ill. and attended the Southern Illinois University for two years for drafting and design.

He was retired from the Dupont Co. and the Tennessee Valley Authority where he was a design detailer.

Surviving in addition to his wife of over fifty-six years are nine children; Johanna Merrell and husband Dennis of Jacksonville, Fla., Chris A. Frizzell and wife Nettie of Gainesboro, James R. Frizzell and wife Carol of Gainesboro, Karen Lynn Miller and husband Don of Kempville, Michael Don Frizzell and wife Teresa of Gainesboro, Kimberly Ann Reed and husband Eddie of Shelbyville, Beverly Sue Chalman and husband Matt of Whitleyville, John William Frizzell of Gainesboro, Robert Lewis Frizzell and wife Lurese of Pristina, Kosovo; sisters, Velma Cragg of Melbourne, Fla., Wanda Mae Finney and husband Bob of Brandon, Miss.; brother, Don Frizzell and wife Sharon of Fayetteville, Ark.; eighteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
