Bobby Gene Gammon was born on October 19, 1933, in Macon County, Tennessee, to the late William Jack Gammon and Mazie Luella Gregory Gammon.
He was one of three children born to this union. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his Brother, Elder Carlos Gammon; and Niece, Cindy Grissom. Bobby was saved at Old Bottom Missionary Baptist Church when he was young. He and his sister joined the church and were baptized together when they were sixteen years old. Bobby graduated from Macon County High School in May of 1953. He then moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, and began working for The Chrysler Corporation in September of that same year. Bobby married Louise Bandy on December 22, 1957. They were blessed with one daughter in July of 1972, and sixty-three years together. Bobby was a dedicated employee for Chrysler and worked as a machine operator for over thirty years. Upon retirement from Chrysler in 1984, Bobby and his family moved to Scottsville, Kentucky. Bobby had worked so much of his life that it was hard for him to not continue working, so he went to work for Dollar General Corporation in Scottsville, where he worked for another twenty-three years. Bobby loved the Lord and loved going to church. He enjoyed playing checkers and talking to people. On Friday March 12, 2021, at the age of eighty-seven, Bobby Gene Gammon was called to his heavenly home. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all that knew and loved him. Bobby Gene Gammon is survived by; Wife, Louise Bandy Gammon; Daughter, Louella Hite and husband, Jody; Grandchildren, Maggy Hite and Fiancé, Seth Sneed, and Jackson Hite; Step-Grandson, Patton Hite; and Sister, Betty Jo Grissom. Funeral services for Bobby Gene Gammon were conducted on Monday, March 15, 2021, from The Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Mike Kinslow and Elder Tim Hogue officiating. Interment followed in The Mt. Zion Cemetery.
