Murrel Eugene Whittemore, age 54

  Murrel Eugene Whittemore, age 54, passed away Wed., Dec. 10, 2008, at Macon County General Hospital. Funeral services for Murrel Eugene Whittemore were conducted Sat., Dec. 13, 2008 at 11 a.m. from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Barry Brawner and Brother Seth Blankenship officiating. Fleetwood Home Employees served as honorary pallbearers.  Keith Bilbro, Jeremy Marshall, Shane Reed, Dwight Whittemore, Chris Tuck, David Doss, and Shorty Shockley served as pallbearers. Murrel Eugene Whittemore was born on, May 17, 1954, in Macon County, Tenn. He was the son of the late Louis Ray and Mary Magdaline Pedigo Whittemore. He married the former Teresa Harper on Nov. 17, 1977, sharing thirty-one years together, raising a son and a daughter. Besides his parents; he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Monroe Whittemore, and sister, Sarah Matthews. Murrel was an employee of Fleetwood Homes. He loved time with his family and friends, but enjoyed turkey and rabbit hunting in his spare time. He was a member of the Hunters Association, a member of the Lions Club, and a member of Lafayette First Baptist Church. Besides his wife, he leaves to mourn his passing; son, Chad (Erica) Whittemore of Lafayette, Tenn.; daughter, Tina (Martin) Fisher of Oregon; grandson, Parker Whittemore of Lafayette, Tenn.; granddaughter, Natalie Fisher of Oregon; brother, Louis (Veste) Whittemore; sister, Robbie Denson; extended family, Keith (Nicole) Bilbro; grandson, Brian Bilbro all of Lafayette, Tenn.; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
