Mayzell Hackett Gentry, age 82 of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., passed away Sun., March 22, 2009 at University Medical Center in Lebanon, Tenn. Funeral Services for Mayzell Hackett Gentry were conducted Wed., March 25, 2009 from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Elder Billy Joe Shoulders officiating. Interment followed in the Whitley Cemetery. Her pallbearers were Joe Nixon, Pat Nixon, Cameron Nixon, Shannon Gentry, Shane Givens, Ronnie Hackett, Donald Vinson, and Tony Hackett. Mayzell was one of seven siblings born to the late Ervie and Zula Etheridge Hackett. On August 12, 1946, she married Drew B. Gentry, who preceded her in death on July 6, 1996. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Lucille Vinson, and brothers, Ernest D. and Bernest Hackett. She was employed by Haywood manufacturing from 1967 until 1979. Mayzell was Missionary Baptist in Belief. She is survived by her daughters &sons -in-law, Linda & Michael Nixon, Carthage, Tenn., Brenda & Don Witcher Roberts, Madison, Tenn., son & daughter-in-law, Jimmy & Loretta Gentry, Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., sisters, R.C. Gentry and Elaine West both of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., Carolyn Givens and her husband, Jackie of Goodlettsville, Tenn., grandchildren, Joe and Pat Nixon, Carthage, Tenn., Rhonda Hall, La Vergne, Tenn., Shannon and Shalena Gentry, Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. and 7 great-grandchildren.
