The Red Boiling Springs Lady Bulldogs ran their winning streak to 2 with an overtime win over the Lady Tigerettes from Watertown on Tuesday night but they almost blew this game after leading at halftime by a score of 27-20.
The Lady Bulldogs got a career high 25 points from Mayson Burgener and it took everyone of them to even get this game into overtime. Lady Bulldog power forward Katie Hix made 2 free throws with 11.5 seconds left on the clock in regulation to put the Lady Bulldogs up by 2 points. The Lady Tigerettes drove the length of the floor to make a short jumper to send this game into overtime where it was all Lady Bulldogs. Katie Hix made 2 layups and Freshman Hannah Smith made a big layup and Mayson Burgener made a short jumper and the Lady Bulldogs outscored the Watertown girls by a 12-6 margin and a 65-59 victory belonged to the Lady Bulldogs. Lady Bulldog coach Larry White called this game a team win as every Lady Bulldog helped win this game.
Mayson Burgener was 8 of 23 from 2 point range and 1 of 2 from the 3 point line plus she made 6 of 8 free throws. Kalish Lynch and Senior forward Katie Hix both played great with Lynch knocking down 13 points while Hix had 12 points plus 9 big rebounds. Kelsey Jenkins played real well also scoring 8 big points and 3 steals. Hannah Smith finished with 4 points while Kaitlyn McCarter finished with 3 big points.

The Watertown Tigers are a loaded basketball team that has hardly any weak parts as they put on a clinic by winning big over the Red Boiling Springs High School boys by a final score of 61-22.
The Tigers are loaded at every position and they are as quick as any team the Bulldogs will play all year. The score of this game was about what Bulldog fans expected because the Tigers are just that good plus the Bulldogs were missing one of their best players Ty Tuck who was out with the flu.
The Bulldogs quickly fell behind in the first quarter as Watertown scored the first 11 points before Bulldog Nick Deckard made a basket and later in the quarter Skylar Holden made a free throw and the Bulldogs trailed 20-3 after the first quarter. The Bulldogs did play better in the second quarter by putting up 9 points. Alex Mullinex made a nice 3 pointer for the Bulldogs and Nick Deckard had 4 points in the quarter. Brince Crouch made 2 free throws and by halftime the Tigers led in this game 32-12.The Bulldogs were playing hard but Watertown was much the better team.
Bulldog Coach Michael Owens tried to slow down the Tigers, who pulled their press to start the third quarter but still managed to outscore the Bulldogs in the third quarter by a margin of 21-7 to send this game into the fourth quarter with Watertown leading 53-19.Nick Deckard made 3 free throws in the quarter while Dallas Greanead made 2 from the charity stripe and Brince Crouch made a 2 point Basket for the bulldogs.
Both teams used mostly reserves in the final stanza as Skylar Holden made a nice 3 point shot for the only points for the Bulldogs in the fourth quarter. Your final score is Watertown 61 RBS 22.
The Bulldogs will now look forward to the Smith County Owls coming to the Dogpound this Saturday night.
