The Macon County Tigers fall to the DeKalb County Tigers by a final score of 42-7.

The loss runs the Tiger record to 3-5 for the season.

DeKalb would strike first. The team from Smithville would post two scores on two big plays to take a 14-0 lead with 9:18 left in the first half. Macon would answer on a long drive which resulted in a 19 yard touchdown pass from Seth Carlisle to Brandon Noles. Noles added the PAT and Macon trailed 7-14 with 0:59 to go in the half. DeKalb would drive and attempt a long field goal on an untimed down but it was blocked by Jessie Gregory to end the half.

DeKalb County came out and scored on their opening possession of the second half on another big play and simply wore down the Tigers. Macon just could not keep any kind of sustained offense, managing just 220 total yards for the game. DeKalb would add three more rushing scores, two on runs of 25 and 52 yards. Final score for the game was DeKalb 42 Macon 7.

For the game Seth Carlisle was 12 of 26 for 128 yards with 1TD and 2 interceptions. Carlisle added 30 rushing yards on 18 attempts while Matt Austin had 43 yards on 6 carries and Tanner Lowhorn had 12 yards on 4 carries. Brandon Noles had 4 receptions for 68 yards, Tanner Cleary had 2 for 20, Matt Austin had 2 for 20, Tyler Carlisle had 1 for 15, and AJ Simpson had 3 for 5 yards. Sophomore Tyler Swindle had 10 tackles to lead the Tigers. Brandon Graves had 7, Jessie Gregory 6, and AJ Simpson had 5 tackles for the game.

On Friday October 24th the Tigers return home for their final district game. They will host the Smith County Owls (3-5, 2-2 District 8AA) with game time scheduled for 7 pm.
