The Westmoreland Eagles came to Pat Parker Field and had no problems taking a win over the Macon County Tigers. The final score was 33-7.

On the Eagles opening possession they marched 63 yards in 6 plays when Tate Sloan scored from 36 yards out. Quinton Sizemore added the PAT and at the 8:34 mark of the 1st period Westmoreland led 7-0. After a Macon three-and-out, Sloan scored again from 31 yards with 4:24 left in the period, Sizemore’s PAT was good, and Westmoreland led 14-0. Both Eagle drives were sustained by Macon penalties on 3rd down plays.

Both teams traded possessions and with 1:59 left in the half the Eagles blocked a Macon punt inside the Tiger 5 yard line. Collin Casteel was credited for recovering the ball for the Eagle TD. The PAT was no god and Westmoreland led 20-0. Just 50 seconds later Tiger Jon Mark Gammons hit Chris Oliver for a 72 yard score. Ryan Underwood made the PAT and at the half the score was 20-7 Eagles.

At the 2:52 mark of the 3rd quarter Sloan scored his third TD on a 64 yard run. Sizemore made the PAT and the lead was extended to 27-7. The Eagles would tack on another score with 3:28 left in the game when Ryan Hodge scored on a quarterback keeper. The PAT was no good and the final score was 33-7.

For the game for the Tigers Jon Gammons was 13 of 24 passing for 186 yards with 1 TD and 3 interceptions. He also rushed 6 times for -4 yards. Noah Likens rushed for 5 times for 28 yards and Ethan Jenkins ran 5 times for 22 yards. Chris Oliver caught 6 balls for 128 yards and a TD, Isaac Belton and Cameron Houston caught one pass each for 16 yards, and Landon Whittemore caught 2 passes for 16 yards.  Macon had 11 costly penalties for 68 yards. The Tigers were led in tackes by Belton (12), followed by Caleb Farber (11), Stephen Lancaster (5), and Rodney Tuck (4). 

The Eagles were led by Tate Sloan who rushed 13 times for 172 yards and 3 TDs. Tyson Ludec ran 11 times for 49 yards and Collin Casteel ran 4 times for 18 yards. Quarterback Ryan Hodge ran 3 times for -5 yards and a TD and was 0 for 2 passing. The Eagles were led in tackles by Ludec (6), Sloan (6), Jacob Kelley (3), Casteel (3), Sizemore (3), Chris Wix (3), and Kirby Bickerton (3).

The Tigers have an open week this week and will return to action on Sep 7th when they travel to White House-Heritage. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 pm.
