By: Misty Green The Red Boiling Springs High School football team welcomed Jackson County to the grid iron on the hill last Friday night, October 14, 2011 and was handed a 24-14 defeat after four quarters of play by the visiting Blue Devils.
By: Wally Etheridge The 5th District volleyball tournament got underway last Tuesday night in the dog pound gym in Red Boiling Springs with host team taking on the Lady Tigerettes from Gordonsville. The other teams playing were top seeded Friendship Christian, second seed Watertown and third seed Trousdale County.
The MCHS Girls Volleyball team competed in the District 9-AA tournament held at Macon County High School. The Tigerettes finished second in the tournament behind Goodpasture.
By Mark Darnell The Macon County High School Cross Country teams competed in the Mid State Cross Country Championship this past Saturday October 15th at Sharp Springs Park in Smyrna.
The Bulldogs of Red Boiling Springs traveled to Monterey for the seventh game of the season.
By Tim Case The MCHS Tigers lose another close one in the final moments this past Friday night. The DeKalb County Tigers brought a 6-1 record to Pat Parker Field along with an offense that was averaging 35 points a game.
The Macon County Junior High Girls Soccer Team won three games in a row and also had 8th grade night on Friday Sept 30.
By Tim Case The MCJH Tigers hosted the Cornerstone Yellow Jackets last Tuesday night for parents’ night and also the final regular season game of 2011.
By Tim Case The MCJHS Tigers hosted the Westmoreland Eagles for homecoming Tuesday September 27th. There was a large crowd in attendance.
