Claude Edward Murray, 74

Claude Edward Murray, of Red Boiling Springs, died at the age of 74 on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Saint Thomas Hospital. 

Claude MurrayFuneral services for Claude Edward Murray were conducted from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home on Sunday, February 24, 2008 at 1 p.m. with Brother Jerry Gammons officiating. Dallas Carnahan, Doug Carnahan, Keith Allen Murray, Chris Murray, Jeffery Cornell and Jeff Price served as Pallbearers.  Burial followed in Anderson & Son Memorial Park.

Born Claude Edward Murray in Clay County, Tenn. on Wednesday, April 26, 1933, he was one of nine siblings of the late Van and Stella Ann (Short) Murray.  He married the former Beulah Gibson on July 10, 1970, who survives.  Besides his parents, two brothers, Harold and Roy Murray, and one sister, Alma Murray preceded him in death.  He had worked for Central State Bridge Works for twelve years. 
Besides his wife of thirty-seven years, he is survived by, daughters, Rachel (Richard) Cornell of Lafayette, Tenn., Alma Jean Murray and David Kerney of Austin, Ky., step-daughter, Wilma (Don) Baker of Beachgrove, Ind., step-son, William (Shirley Sue) Gibson of London, Ky., brothers, Clifford Murray of Gamaliel, Ky. and Danny Murray of Jonesville, Ind., sisters, Jean Purcell of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., Rachel Carnahan of Tompkinsville, Ky., and Thelma Price of Greenwood, Ind., six grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
