Funeral services for Harold Ray Meador, better known as “Roscoe”, age 62, of 348 Fox Chase Lane in Lafayette, Tenn. were conducted Friday, February 22, 2008 at 2p.m.

Ray MeadorFuneral services for Harold Ray Meador, better known as “Roscoe”, age 62, of 348 Fox Chase Lane in Lafayette, Tenn. were conducted Friday, February 22, 2008 at 2p.m. from the chapel of the Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette, Tenn. with Elder Ricky Holland and Brother Jackie Rich officiating.  Honorary Pallbearers were, Odean Harp, Billy Wix, David Wix, Lonnie Jones, Jerry Gammon, Gary Kemp and Roger Knight. Active Pallbearers were R. C. Perrigo, Johnnie Lowhorn, Jr. Polston, J.W. Holland, Anthony Knight, Kelvin Massengille, Jimmy Dallas and Terry Polston.  Interment followed in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park.

Roscoe passed away Tuesday morning February 19, 2008, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Harold Ray was born February 28, 1945 in Macon County, Tenn., the son of the late Windle and Neva Bentle Meador.  On September 19, 1972, he married Nancy L. Chandler, who survives.  Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ophie and Freddie B. Meador.  Harold was a retired employee from the Macon County Highway Department and was employed with the former Lafayette Cleaners.  He was a member of the Old Bottom Missionary Baptist Church.
Besides his wife, Nancy of 35 years, survivors include: daughters & son-in-law, Susan & Kerry Emberton, Melissa Meador, Son, Wendell R. Meador, grandchildren, Andrew, Bryan and Erin Emberton all of Lafayette, Tenn., brother, Stanley Meador, Silver Point, Tenn., sisters, Ollis Dean Burgess, Miami, Fla., Melvin Meador, Princeton, Ky., sister-in-law, Linda Chandler, Lafayette, Tenn. and a host of friends and relatives.
