Lavena Evelyn Sanders, 86
Lavena Evelyn Sanders, a resident of The Palace Care and Rehab, died at the age of 86 on Tuesday, March 4, 2008.
Funeral services for Lavena Evelyn Sanders were conducted from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 1 p.m. with Elder Guthrie Thompson officiating. Wendell Jones, Tony Hightower, Keith Hauskins, Harold Jones, Billy Brooks, Jerry Hauskins, Erick Carter, and Justin Clark served as Pallbearers. Burial followed in the Drury Cemetery.
Born Lavena Evelyn Jones in Macon County, Tenn., on Sunday, March 20, 1921, she was one of five siblings of the late Harmon L. and Cam (White) Jones. She was married to Willie Sanders, who preceded her in death on February 6, 2000. Besides her husband and parents, two sons, Van Lewis Sanders, and Clyde Sanders, one infant daughter, Vickie Lynn Sanders, two brothers, Winfred and Earl Sanders, one sister, Lena Hightower preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and mother of four children that she loved deeply. She lived at The Palace Care & Rehab with her son Bobby, there you could see her love for her son, as she seen his needs were met first. She was a member of the Brattontown Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by, son, Bobby J. Sanders of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., brother, Malon Jones of Lafayette, Tenn., special niece, Evelyn Perrigo of Lafayette, Tenn., and several other nieces and nephews.
