Linda Lou Burgener, 60
Linda Lou Burgener, 60, of Lafayette, Tenn. departed this life 1:20 a.m., Monday, March 10, 2008 at Vanderbilt Medical Center, Nashville, Tenn.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, March 10 and 11, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Lafayette. A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 12. Burial will be at Anderson and Son Memorial Park, Lafayette. Father Dennis Holly will officiate. Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home, Lafayette, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Linda was born March 5, 1948 in Gamaliel, Ky., the daughter of George E. “Cotton” and Grace Kirk Hale. She married John D. Burgener February 24, 1968 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bement, Ill.
She is survived by her husband, John; son, John Joseph “Joey” Burgener, wife Angie, and granddaughters Morgan and Mayson Burgener; daughter, Jennifer McPherson, husband Jeff, and grandsons Trey and Trace McPherson; daughter, Jamie Hagan, husband Bobby and grandsons Ethan Keene and Christopher “Willie” Wagner, all of Lafayette, Tenn.
Also surviving is Linda’s Mother, Grace Hale of Lafayette, Tenn.; sister, Birda Rhea (Bill) Tackett of Virden, Ill.; sister, Ann Quida (Doug) Clark of Urbana, Ill.; sister, Sabrina Bowman of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; brother, George “Marshall” Hale of Dixon Springs, Tenn.; her Father and grandparents preceded her in death.
Linda moved to Ill. from Ky. with her parents and family in 1962. She graduated from Atwood-Hammond High School, Atwood, Ill. in 1966. In just of 1971 Linda returned to Ky. with her husband and family. In 1978 Linda and her family located in Lafayette, Tenn. Linda was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lafayette where she was member of the Ladies’ Guild.
Linda and her husband John operated Owl H’oller Processing in Lafayette. Previously Linda worked at Carters and Wal-Mart in Lafayette. Linda was devoted to her faith, family and friends. She was a proud Nana and delighted in her grandchildren. Linda enjoyed flower gardening. During her life, Linda touched many lives and will be deeply missed by family members and numerous friends.
In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Holy Family Catholic Church Building Fund.
