Scott Jackson, 80

Scott Jackson, of Lafayette, a native of Grundy, Va., died at the age of 80 on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at the Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, Tenn.

Scott JacksonFuneral services for Scott Jackson were under the direction of the Grundy Funeral Home in Grundy, Va. Burial followed in Mountain Valley Memorial Park in Big Rock, Va.

Born Scott Jackson in Buchannan County, Va., on Monday, June 27, 1927, he was one of twelve siblings of the late Joseph and Murtie (Hurley) Jackson.  He married the former Pearl Dotson on April 12, 1951, who survives and lives in Lafayette, Tenn.  Besides his parents, one daughter, Donna Jean McClanahan, one brother, Bert Jackson, and two sisters, Brookie Jackson, and Delvie Jackson preceded him in death.  He was a self-employed building contractor, and a member of the Akersville Missionary Baptist Church.

Besides his wife of fifty-six years, he is survived by, four sons, David (Gail) Jackson of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., Larry Scott (Dixie) Jackson, Edwin (Clara) Jackson all of Grundy, Va., and Stevie Harold (Teresa) Jackson of Abington, Mich., one daughter, Patty Sue Lester of Grundy, Va., five brothers, Ulvert and Carol Jackson of Fenton, Mich., Bobby, Harold, and Britt Jackson of Hurley, Va., three sisters, Edith, and Nora Jackson and Madaline Hurley, all of Hurley, Va., seventeen grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren
