Donald Butrum, 68

Donald Butrum, of Lafayette died at the age of 68 on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Saint Thomas Hospital.

Funeral services for Donald Butrum were conducted from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 3 p.m. with Elder Danny Holland and Elder G.F. Davenport officiating.  Cortez Sadler, Stephen Williams, Kent Copas, Dee Brooks, Jerry Netherton, Tommy Napier, Merlin Driver, and Roger Jent served as pallbearers. Burial followed in Underwood Cemetery.

Born Donald Butrum in Macon County, Tenn. on November 7, 1939, one of three siblings to the late Don and Irene (West) Butrum.  He married the former Verlene Brooks on June 20, 1964, who survives and lives in Lafayette.  Besides his parents, brother, Louis Butrum, sister, Marie Wilder and several nieces and nephews, preceded him in death.

He was the father of three children; he enjoyed spending time with his family. He had retired after thirty-two years of service for T.R.W. Manufacturing in Lebanon, Tenn.; he was a farmer and was of the Missionary Baptist Belief.

Besides his wife of forty-three years, he is survived by; son, Donald William (Erica) Butrum, daughters, Regina (Jackie) Nash, and Renee (Chris) Napier all of Lafayette, Tenn., grandchildren, Kristina Butrum, Donald William Butrum, Jr., Heather (Jason) Bartley, Brookie Nash, and Trevor Napier, great-grandchildren, Kalista and Aaliyah Clark, Chayse Bartley, and Landen Nash.
