Dean Ray, 79

Funeral services for Dean Ray were conducted Tuesday afternoon, April 8, 2008, at 1 p.m. from the Willette Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Ronnie Harrison and Elder Ricky White officiating.

Interment followed in the Jenkins Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers were his grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Active Pallbearers were Jeff Halliburton, Brandon Daugherty, Kyle Ray, Ethan Russell, Trevor Russell, Justin Dyer and Dillon Halliburton.

Dean passed away Saturday morning, April 5, 2008 at the Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette, Tenn.

He was born June 1, 1928 in Overton County, Tenn., the son of the late Jack C. and Florence Harris Ray. On February 10, 1945, he married the former Ella Gertrude Kelly, who preceded him in death on January 11, 1987. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Ruth Payne, Bonnie Ray, Mary Lee Whitaker, Tick, Ray, Etter Ray, Jewel Ray and brothers, Bill, Bud, Horace and Forest Ray. He later married the former Laure Richardson on May 31, 1992, who survivors. He was a member of the Willette Missionary Baptist Church, Heavy Equipment Operator for 55 years, Registered Angus Cattle Dealer for 22 years and a honorary member of the Willette Fire Department for 6 years.

Survivors besides his wife, Laure include: daughters & sons-in-law; Carolyn & Bobby Halliburton, Diane & Terry Daugherty all of Lafayette, Tenn., sons & daughters-in-law; Jerry & Barbara Ray, Willette Community, Randy & Roxie Ray, Lafayette, Tenn., son, Terry Ray, Willette Community, step-daughters; Rebecca Murray, Tompkinsville, Ky., Diana Turner, Flippin, Ky., step-son, Tony Jones, Lincoln, Neb., sister, Audie May Hodges, Guthrie, Ky.,14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren.
