Mary Nadine Reeves, 83

Mary Nadine Reeves, of Lafayette, died at the age of 83, Monday, March 31, 2008 at the Sumner Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Mary Nadine Reeves were conducted from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 4, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Elder Harold Dean Linville officiating.  Ronnie, Jason, and Ricky Reeves, Billy, Jimmy, David, Nelson, and William Merritte served as pallbearers.  Burial followed in the Drury Cemetery.            

Mary Nadine Reeves was born in Macon County, on July 27, 1924, one of four siblings born to the late James “Frank” and Alta Lummie (Adams) Merritte.  She was married to Hershel Reeves on May 26, 1944, who preceded her in death on February 1, 2004.  Besides her husband and parents, daughter, Judith Reeves, and brother, Lennie Merritte preceded her in death.  She had been an employee for Texas Boot Company in Hartsville, a homemaker, and was a member of Old Beech Bottom Missionary Baptist Church since 1978.                

She is survived by, daughter and son-in-law, Shelvie (Howser) Gregory of Lafayette, Tenn., brother, Rickmond Merritte of Lafayette, Tenn., Ernestine Reeves of Lenoir City, Tenn., grandsons, Richard (Becky) Gregory, Jamie (Tina) Gregory, and Randy Gregory, great-grandsons, Justin Gregory and Brandon Gregory.
