Selma Rulene Brown, 61
Selma Rulene Brown, of Westmoreland, died at the age of 61, Monday, March 31, 2008 at the Sumner Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services for Selma Rulene Brown were conducted from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 1 p.m. with Reverend Carlene Kirby officiating. Gerald and Richard Brown, Scotty Langford, Jimmy Hickman, Barry Dwayne Holman, and Mike Rittenberry served as pallbearers. Burial followed in the Oakdale Cemetery. Selma Rulene Brown was born in Macon County, Tenn. on April 22, 1946, one of eight siblings born to the late Estell and Hattie (Roalin) Holman. She was married to Jerry Brown on February 12, 1972, who survives and lives in Westmoreland. Besides her parents, brother, Earl Holman, and sister, Velma Rittenberry preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker who had a great passion for her family (raising four children) and was a member of the Oakdale General Baptist Church.
Besides her husband of 36 year, she is survived by, sons, Gerald (Brandy) Brown and Richard Brown all of Lafayette, Tenn., daughters, Crystal (Jimmy) Hickman of Cottontown, Tenn., Karen (Scotty) Langford of the Oakdale Community in Macon County, Tenn., brothers, “Charlie” (“Dot”) Holman of Indianapolis, Ind., Ray (Ann) Holman of Rainbow City, Ala., Billy (Raydell) Holman of Scottsville, Ky., sisters, Earlene Claiborne, and Shirley (Donald) Brawner, sister-in-law, Agalene Holman all of the Oakdale Community in Macon County, Tenn., and five grandchildren.
