Funeral services for Bertha Biles McCaleb York, age 67, of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. were conducted Friday morning, April 18, 2008, at 10 a.m. from the chapel of the Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. with Jimmy Cook officiating. Interment followed in the Smith Chapel Cemetery. Her family served as pallbearers.
Bertha passed away, Tuesday morning, April 15, 2008, at the Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette, Tenn.
She was born May 19, 1940 in Macon County, Tenn., the daughter of Etta Brown Biles of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. and the late Chester C. Biles. Besides her father, she was also preceded in death by her sons, William and Dennis McCaleb, grandsons, Robert Hatcher and Robert McCaleb, Jr., and brother, Jerry Biles. She was married to Bobby York on February 14, 2007, who survives. She was an employee with The Palace in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. with 22 years of service.
Survivors besides her husband and mother include: daughter & son-in-law, Teresa & Steve King, Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., son, Michael McCaleb, Athens, Ala., sons & daughters-in-law, Danny & Connie McCaleb, Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., Robert & Hope McCaleb, Hermitage Springs Community, sister, Dawn Peek, Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
