Opal Strode Bilbrey, 87

Funeral services for Opal Strode Bilbrey, age 87 of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. were conducted Saturday afternoon, April 19, 2008, at 3 p.m. from the chapel of the Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. with Jimmy Cook officiating.

Opal BilbreyInterment followed in the Bilbrey Family Cemetery. Her pallbearers were Roger Clark, Jim Birdwell, Lanny Hudson, David Williams, Kenneth Hollis and Terry Gann.

Mrs. Opal passed away Thursday morning, April 17, 2008 at her son’s residence in the Walnut Shade Community in Macon County, Tenn.

She was born April 4, 1921 in Jackson County, Tenn., the daughter of the late Henry and Cartha Keith Strode. On October 11, 1947, she married Lex “Sam” Bilbrey, who survives. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Cecil Clark and Anna Alice Blankenship. She was a Restaurant Worker and a member of the Whitleyville Church of Christ.

Survivors besides her husband, Sam of 60 years include: son & daughter-in-law, Thomas & Lynne Bilbrey, Grandsons, Hank & Samuel Bilbrey, all of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., granddaughter, Desire’ Marshall and her husband, Jeremy, great-grandchildren, Isaac & Kennedy Marshall, all of Lafayette, Tenn.
